Project Overview

This project was rooted in the homeowners’ desire to remain in their home comfortably and safely for years to come, without sacrificing thoughtful design. The existing layout required daily trips upstairs to access key living spaces, prompting the need for a more accessible solution. In addition to creating a fully functional lower-level living area with a living room, kitchen, bedroom, and two bathrooms, the project also included the complete redesign and renovation of the existing kitchen, powder room, laundry room, and mechanical room. Together, these improvements reimagined the home as a whole, enhancing functionality, safety, and flow while supporting the homeowners’ lifestyle and long-term comfort.

1.

The homeowners were committed to staying in the home they love and began dreaming of a way to make it work for them long term. The need for additional space and easier day-to-day living inspired the vision for a thoughtfully planned, single-level addition—one that would support comfort, safety, and independence while still feeling cohesive with the rest of the home.

DREAM

DESIGN

2.

Design focused on creating a space that felt intentional, comfortable, and seamlessly connected to the existing home. Working closely with the homeowners, we carefully planned the layout to support single-level living while maximizing both function and flow. Each space—from the living area to the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom—was thoughtfully designed to balance accessibility with a clean, refined aesthetic that feels purposeful rather than clinical.

The completed addition reshaped the way the homeowners live in their home. By bringing essential living spaces—kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and living area—to a single level, the finished space now supports comfort, safety, and everyday ease. Subtle accessibility features were thoughtfully integrated throughout, creating an environment that feels intentional, welcoming, and designed to be lived in with confidence.
