Building Maintenance

Just as you take care of your body by scheduling a check-up every so often, it’s a good idea to schedule check-ups for your home or building, too. Home and building maintenance can help identify, investigate, and fix problems before they become large, expensive disasters. KC’s Improvement & Construction offers the following types and more of building maintenance:

Preventative Maintenance

Preventative maintenance is carried out to detect and correct problems before they develop into major issues. Regular inspection ensures prevention of building deterioration and/or malfunction of various systems. A preventative maintenance check-up inspects for potential damage from:

  • Mold
  • Flooding and storms
  • Insects
  • Seepage
  • Insulation leaks
  • General wear-and-tear

In addition, preventative maintenance examines potential issues in the systems listed below.

General Maintenance

General maintenance includes both inspection for the aforementioned damages, as well as day-to-day maintenance of the building’s facilities. General maintenance may include inspection and reparation of the following:

  • Roof damage
  • Roof-to-wall connections
  • HVAC
  • Plumbing systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Fire alarm system
  • Pavement damage

Emergency Maintenance

Every so often, a situation may occur in your home or business that you didn’t plan for. When an emergency situation threatens your home’s safety, comfort or security, it’s important to call a professional right away. Situations that call for emergency maintenance include:

  • No heat when the outside temperature is below 40 degrees
  • No air conditioning when the outside temperature is above 85 degrees
  • No electricity to over 50% of the building
  • No usable bathroom on the property due to clogged sewer lines
  • Burst water  supply lines
  • Elevator malfunction
  • Security/entrance gate malfunction
  • Smoke alarm continuously sounding or sprinkler system constantly running
