Your shower or tub is going to be the centerpiece within your bathroom, so make sure you splurge in this area! Replacing the fixtures is a great way to keep your costs down, but if your budget allows it, consider replacing everything. This is especially necessary if your shower or tub is showing its age.
If you have no idea of where to start with your bathroom remodel, we recommend turning to the internet. There is a wealth of information to be found online and we know that you can find any different options that you can use to create the bathroom of your dreams.
It is always a good idea to know the standard dimensions of bathrooms when you are designing and planning your remodel. A toilet will require at least thirty inches, but thirty-six inches is always best. A standard bathtub is sixty inches long and thirty to thirty-two inches wide, however, the depths of tubs varies anywhere from fourteen inches to twenty inches. A sink will require thirty inches of space, but we recommend allowing up to forty-eight inches if you want a decent amount of counterspace.
You may think that you can wing your bathroom remodel, but we do not suggest attempting it! A detailed plan will have you knowing exactly what has been finished and what still needs to be done before everything is finally completed. This is an excellent way to know exactly what materials you need too, because you will see everything in list form.
As you are creating your detailed plan, you are going to want to make sure that you are not forgetting any of the smaller details. Some of the details that we see forgotten most often include the hardware, the caulking, and the placement of electrical outlets and light fixtures.
